Upright vacuums are the most common and popular vacuums on the market. The reason for this is because they are powerful, while also remaining very affordable and easy to use. Most of this comes from the fact that they were one of the first types of vacuum cleaners available on the market, and as such, they have had a significant amount of time to develop and grow.
As for what an upright vacuum is, it is a type of vacuum cleaner that stands tall and upright. Usually, an upright vacuum is bulky, which does limit its mobility, nevertheless, powerful, and you can use an upright vacuum to clean just about any surface.
Today, we’re going to be looking at four different upright vacuums. Each one of these upright vacuums comes from Shark, and Shark is a very reputable manufacturer of vacuums and steam mops.
You are learning all about the Shark NV500, the Shark NV501, the Shark NV752, and the Shark NV803. By the time you are done reading this article, you will have a pretty good idea of the different features that these upright vacuums offer.
What Does The Shark NV500 Offer?
To start, the Shark NV500 is what’s known as a “Lift-Away Vacuum”, and this means that it is an upright vacuum, just like any other upright vacuum, but that you can also pick it up, off of the little platform that holds the dust canister and the motor, and then extend the hose, as you are holding the vacuum in your hand, vacuuming all kinds of different spaces.
By doing this, you have significantly more freedom when it comes to the types of spaces you vacuum, and how you vacuum them.
As for the general cleaning power, good. Not particularly special, in any sense of the word, but it works very well and is effective at cleaning things like carpets, rugs, stairs, hard floors, and upholstery.
It weighs 21 pounds, so it isn’t always the most comfortable to pick up and use, but since it has been designed in an ergonomically pleasing manner, you shouldn’t have any real problems with it.
Ultimately, the Shark NV500 is a nice little upright vacuum that gives you a lot of freedom when it comes to where you clean, and how you clean. If you’re on a budget, then it’s a great choice!
What Does The Shark NV501 Offer?
The Shark NV501 is a bit more expensive than the Shark NV501, but it has a couple of incredibly useful features.
One of which is that the dust canister is a lot bigger. If you are vacuuming for a longer period, you don’t have to worry about constantly emptying the canister so that you can keep vacuum cleaning.
Attached to the vacuum, there is something known as the “Premium Pet Power Brush”, and using this brush. It’s a lot easier to pick up things like pet hair, as well as pet debris. It’s also a very powerful brush that you can use to pick up thick strands of dust and other types of debris.
When using the vacuum, it’s easy for you to swivel and maneuver the cleaning head, which controls the brush and the suction. That’s because Shark has given the NV501 a feature known as “Swivel Steering”. Essentially, this means you can swivel the cleaning head around, making it easier to move the vacuum cleaner underneath couches and chairs, and into spaces that are a bit more difficult to reach.
If you are willing to spend some extra cash, then the Shark NV501 is a great upright vacuum, that is powerful, easy to use, and great for removing dirty messes.
What Does The Shark NV752 Offer?
With the Shark NV752, you are getting an upright vacuum that is a lot more expensive than the two we looked at earlier, and this is because the NV752 improves upon every major feature that the previous two vacuums offered.
Like the others, this is a Lift-Away, and it’s a bit bigger than the others, which does make it a bit harder to pick up and use. But, due to the size increase, it’s more powerful.
On the bottom, there is a cleaner head that has been designed to pick up especially large pieces of debris, and other gunk, and it does so in a manner that is efficient and effective.
If you have pets, then the Shark NV752 is a great choice, too, because it includes several pet tools that make it easy to clean up after your pets and the messes that they have made.
In terms of the power that the Shark NV752 offers, it is very powerful, and this is due to the brushes and the suction system behind those brushes. Using the Shark NV752, you can clean just about anything.
So, if you’re willing to spend a decent chunk of change, this is a great vacuum.
What Does The Shark NV803 Offer?
Finally, the last vacuum we will be looking at is the Shark NV803. This is a less expensive vacuum than the NV752, and it’s also quite different, as well.
With the Shark NV803, you are going to be using DuoClean Technology, and this technology involves using a strong bristle brush, as well as a soft brush roll, to completely remove all of the particles and debris that are within your carpet, and on the harder floors that you are on. This is an incredibly powerful mechanism for completely removing dirt and debris, off of your floors. You can also choose which type of surface you are going to be cleaning, so that way the vacuum can adjust itself for that floor.
If you want to clean surfaces that are further away, or hidden, then there is a nice wand that you can use to do this, and this is, arguably, the best wand that Shark has designed.
Ultimately, the Shark NV803 is a fantastic vacuum, that is a bit cheaper than the NV752 but just as good!
