A pressure washer simplifies outdoor cleaning tasks by producing constant high-pressure jets to remove the stubbornest, greasiest stains. In today’s review, we’re going to check out one of Sun Joe’s most prized electric pressure washers—the SPX3500. With this beast, there’s hardly an oil spill or muddy patch you won’t be able to blast clean off the face of the Earth.

2,300 PSI at 1.48 GPM
The mighty SPX3500 comes with a beefy 13-amp brushless motor that pressurizes up to 2,300 PSI, though the pressure output is rated at “only” 2,000 PSI. With this much power in the palm of your hand, there’s no common stain or oil spill that the SPX3500 can’t remove with just a few seconds of holding the spray trigger.

Best of all, the SPX3500 uses only 1.48 gallons of water every minute—far less than what you’d normally get out of an outdoor spout (upwards of 20 GPM) so you’re potentially cutting down utility costs while increasing cleaning performance. Consider this and all electric pressure washers to be an investment for your home.
5 QC Spray Nozzle Tips
There’s nothing too fancy here. The SPX3500, like most of Sun Joe’s pressure washers, comes with five standard quick-connect nozzle tips. Each tip fits onto the end of the spray wand to adjust how concentrated the jet of water is for optimal cleaning performance on all surfaces.
Starting from 0° pencil-like precision all the way up for a 40° wide fan, you can safely but thoroughly clean concrete, windows, and anything in between.
1.2-liter Detergent Tank
On the backside of the unit is a large onboard 1.2-liter detergent tank that holds onto your soap of choice. Such a huge tank allows you to clean a wider surface area with fewer interruptions, though changing between soaps can be a bit of a hassle (emptying, rinsing, refilling).

No matter how viscous or watery your soap is, the SPX3500 will send just enough of it through the spray lance to produce satisfyingly frothy layer of suds.
Adjustable Soap Dial
The SPX3500 comes with a soap dial in the front of the unit to let users adjust how much or how little soap to apply when cleaning. Compared to one-speed soap delivery systems found in numerous other pressure washers, you can end up saving soap while also spraying the right amount of soap for the task at hand.
104°F Max Water Inlet Temperature
One of the more impressive features of the SPX3500 is that its induction brushless motor is able to withstand heat to a certain extent. After attaching a standard garden hose into the intake port, you can use warm water of up to 104°F to dissolve caked-on mud and dirt from any surface. Any hotter and you run the risk of overheating the motor.
Total Stop System
Which brings us to our next point: the Total Stop System. TSS automatically shuts the motor off whenever the wand’s trigger is disengaged. This system helps in increasing the lifespan of the brushless motor. With this system in place combined with proper storage and regular maintenance, the SPX3500 should be able to pass the two-year mark covered by its warranty.

Large All-Terrain Wheels
The shape and design of the SPX3500 is like most of what you’d find on the market. The unit has a handle on top and sits on two large wheels. The sheer size of the wheels allows it glide effortless across all terrain, including grassy and rocky. However, some customers have noted that the wheels can fall off the axle or become wobbly over time.
55-foot Reach
The SPX3500 comes with a 35-foot power cord and a 20-foot hose that gives you a wide radius of free movement. If you’re cleaning your car, there might not be enough slack in the hose to prevent accidental bumping so consider picking up the Sun Joe 25-foot extension hose (sold separately). Please note that the soap function will not work with 45 feet of hose.
Additionally, because the SPX3500 stands upright, you can’t just tow it around with the hose since it can tip over and ruin the electric motor.

Verdict: Should I Get the Sun Joe SPX3500 Electric Pressure Washer?
As one of the world’s most popular manufacturers of gardening and outdoor tools, it’s safe to say that anything sporting the Sun Joe brand will not disappoint, the SPX3500 included. For an electric pressure washer, it delivers almost as much pressure as you could possibly get while using up less than two gallons of water every minute.
We wish the hose were at least ten feet longer but feel free to pick up the 25-foot extension to increase your reach.
