For those of you who are looking for a lightweight upright that packs a punch, then the Shark Navigator NV365E is worth considering. This hardworking upright excels at cleaning both bare and carpeted floors, and with a removable canister for spot-cleaning, there’s very little this upright can’t do. Take a look at my full review of the NV3653 to see whether this is the right option for you.
Never Lose Suction Technology
The shining feature behind the awesome performance of the NV365E is Never Lose Suction Technology. Most uprights typically lose suction pressure after extended use when the filter becomes clogged. This is not the case with this Shark Navigator.
Instead, it uses a cyclonic filtration system that separates large from fine debris, preventing a buildup of material in the filter. This is especially crucial since it comes fitted with a super-fine True HEPA Filter.
True HEPA Filter
Speaking of which, I can’t neglect to mention just how great True HEPA Filters are in vacuum cleaners. The tiniest dust particle may end up passing effortlessly through standard mesh filters, but not in True HEPA.

This filter is designed to capture and retain particles of up to 0.3 microns in size with an efficiency rating of 99.97%. What this does is prevent microscopic particles and organisms from passing through the vacuum and going airborne through the exhaust. If you suffer from seasonal or pet allergies, this is exactly what you’re looking for.
Optional Brushroll
One feature that makes an upright versatile in the sense that it can clean more than just carpets is an optional brush roll. The brush roll consists of stiff bristles that dig deep in carpet fibers to dislodge embedded debris for the vacuum to pick up. However, they can and will scratch hardwood floors and even tiles.
The NV365E has an optional brush roll that can be turned on and off as you like. When transitioning from carpets to bare floors, just set it to the correct cleaning mode. It’s just that simple.
Microfiber Pads
It may seem odd that an upright vacuum cleaner comes with microfiber pads but allow me to explain. When vacuuming bare floors, even the most powerful suction power won’t be able to pick every speck of dust-up.

A microfiber pad attached to the backside of the vacuum head ensures that any missed specks will cling onto the material, leaving your floors as spotless as can be.
Special Lift-Away Canister
But perhaps the most attractive feature of the NV365E is the Lift-Away Canister. The canister detaches from the vacuum head with a press of a button, allowing you to use the NV365E as you would a handheld unit.
This is great for spot-cleaning above-ground surfaces and stairs, as well as any other surface where lugging around a tall upright vacuum wouldn’t make sense (e.g. auto interior). With a wide selection of cleaning tools to use, no surface in your home is free from vacuuming.
Handy Pet Power Brush
The selection of cleaning tools includes the standard 8-inch crevice tool and a dusting brush alongside the main Dust-Away bare floor brush, but the most notable attachment – one that pet owners will undoubtedly appreciate – is the Pet Power Brush.

Those of you with cats and dogs know how easily fur clings onto carpets and upholstery. With the Pet Power Brush, the motorized brush roll will dig deep into soft surfaces to extract most strands of fur in a single pass.
1.2-quart Dust Cup
The convenience of the NV365E doesn’t just come from the easy usability of the vacuum itself but also the large dust cup. The 1.2-quart dust cup can hold onto more dust and hair than you’ll find in a single cleaning session.
Plus, we must give kudos to Shark for including latches on both the top and bottom of the dust cup. Emptying the dust by either tipping it over or dropping the contents from the bottom has never been easier.

Tends to Fall Over
Speaking of tipping over, there’s one minor flaw that you’ll notice if you get the NV365E, namely it’s center of gravity. When stored away, it, unfortunately, does not stand upright but instead leans to the sides or back until it eventually falls over. You’ll need to place it up against a wall during storage.
This may seem nitpicky, but if you’re taking a break in the middle of a cleaning cycle, be sure to lean it against something to prevent the dust cup from cracking.
