When it comes to robotic vacuum cleaners, there’s no reason why the Roborock line shouldn’t stang among the likes of Roombas and Botvacs.
The S6 is Roborock’s latest entry in the already-saturated market, and we’re happy to report that for its price tag, you’ll have a difficult time finding another bot that does what the Roborock S6 is capable of doing.
First things first, let’s talk about one of the S6’s biggest selling points. The S6 doesn’t just vacuum carpets and smooth floors, but inside of the bot you’ll find a water canister that drips a constant stream of moisture onto a detachable cloth.
However, like most vacuum-mop combo bots, its mopping performance can be called semi-successful at best.
The damp cloth merely smears dust and mud around, possibly increasing your manual workload later on. As is, it is indeed a neat feature, but it’s far from being completely reliable.

Thoughtful Charging Dock
Like most robots of its time, the S6 is able to recharge and resume its cleaning task on its own. After instructing it to perform its vacuuming cycle, the robot will automatically refill its battery when low on juice and head back to work after refueling.
The charging dock also comes with a clip-on base which the robot sits on while charging. This keeps the moist cloth off of the ground and damaging your hardwood floors – a simple yet much-needed solution that many other brands might want to adopt for their vacuum-mop bots.
Impressive Cleaning Performance
No onto the crux of the matter: how well the Roborock S6 vacuums. There’s very little doubt in our minds that the S6 is uncapable of keeping your floors as spotless as can be.
Firstly, the S6 has a maximum suction pressure rating of 2,000 Pa, much less than an upright but around the same level as most stick vacs on the market today.
The S6 also comes with sensors that automatically crank its suction pressure up when treading on carpeted floors. It’s also worth noting that the S6’s brushes are located more toward the vacuum’s mouth than in other Roborock models, so scattering isn’t nearly as large of an issue as before.
Using the Xiaomi Mi Home smartphone app lets you choose between four cleaning modes (quiet, balanced, turbo, and MAX).
Smart Mapping and Pathing
Having 14 different sensors working in tandem gives the S6 the ability to scan and recreate accurate digital layouts of your home’s floors.
The result is better and more efficient path creation to save as much battery as possible while cleaning the widest area per charge.
What’s better is that Roborock’s latest navigations systems reduces the frequency of the S6 from getting trapped in between furniture and requiring rescue. Note: reduces, not eliminates.
Impressive Battery Life
The S6 is equipped with a mega 5,200-mAh battery that supplies up to 180 minutes of continuous cleaning. A three-hour charge is, for most homes, more than enough time to clean out an entire floor – possibly twice – before needing to recharge.
Best of all is the S6 can tell whether it will finish a cleaning cycle in a single charge. If not, the S6 will recharge beforehand on its own. Pretty neat, huh?
Mi Home Smartphone App
Surprisingly, the Roborock S6 is not supported by the Roborock APP but rather Xiaomi’s Mi Home. This actually isn’t that much of a surprise seeing as how Xiaomi has invested heavily in Roborock, but you get the picture.
Anyway, the Mi Home app isn’t nearly as impressive as Roborock APP, but it does get the job done.
It’s a straight-forward app that gives you full control over the S6 with just a few taps on your phone’s screen.
There’s also a selective room cleaning feature in the app which is especially handy when you want the S6 to focus on heavy foot-traffic areas of your home.
What’s more annoying that being jolted awake by a wandering robotic vacuum cleaner? Nothing, that’s what! And you won’t have to worry about that any longer, provided you’re not a sensitive sleeper that’s bothered by 52 decibels of noise – roughly the same volume of background house noises.
The S6 will still probably annoy pet cats and dogs, but it’s not the obnoxiously loud robot that sounds like the epicenter of an earthquake.Related Roborock Robot Vacuum Articles

After looking at the Roborock S6, we can conclude that, without a doubt, it’s one of the classiest, most magnificent robotic vacuum-mop combo bots currently available.
That’s not actually a surprise since Roborock vacuum bots are catching up to iRobot in terms of built, performance, and features.
The smart mapping and pathing system of the S6 puts it several steps above many of its predecessors and competitors, so if you’re into smart, self-sufficient robots, the S6 is definitely worth your time.
