Roborock E35 Robot Vacuum and Mop Review

An increasing number of manufacturers are looking to benefit from the growing popularity of robotic vacuum cleaners. iRobot and their line of Roombas is no longer the sole contender for the top position; other notable brands like Eufy’s RoboVacs and Xiaowa’s Roborocks have really changed the game in a meaningful way for consumers.

Roborock E35 Robot Vacuum and Mop Review

The Roborock E35, a vacuum and mop combo bot, is an affordable option for those who don’t want to settle for only budget-friendly features.

Its near-flawless navigation paired with super-strong suction power, plus the mopping module for squeaky-clean floors, will have you wondering how on Earth you made it through your day-to-day without the convenience of this bot.

Vacuuming Performance

It has a maximum suction rating of 2,000 Pa—the highest you’ll find in many flagship robots—that’s made for extracting debris out of medium-pile carpeting. And on bare floors, there’s no point questioning it. The E35 absolutely sucks (in a good way)!

This robot was designed with pet owners in mind so to keep their customer base happy, the E35 can pick up whatever messes they leave behind (dropped food and dur).

On its highest setting, it will suction up large debris like cereal, keeping your floors and carpets spotless.

Mopping Feature

As for the mopping module, you’ll definitely want to keep it detached when sending the robot to perform a thorough cleaning of your home’s floors.

But when it comes time to mop bare floors, just fill the tank up with water and send it on its merry way. Best of all, the E35 can both vacuum and mop simultaneously.

If you’re familiar with hybrid bots, you’ll know that mopping is a relatively new feature that manufacturers have yet to perfect. In fact, the E35 merely wipes your floors with a moistened towel. Any caked-on messes and sticky spills will most likely remain to see another day.

Self-Sufficient

By self-sufficient, I mean the E35 hardly requires a human’s touch to get going.

First of all, it’s sizable 2,600-mAh battery provides up to 150 minutes of continuous vacuuming and/or mopping. As soon as its battery drops to around 20%, it’ll drive straight into the charging dock to refuel.

If its cleaning cycle was not completed, the E35 will recharge for as long as it needs until its battery has enough of a charge to complete the task. With the auto-resume function, it picks up exactly where it left off instead of waiting for its owner to send instructions via the smartphone app or a virtual assistant AI.

Smart Route Planning

“Smart” might actually be a reach in terms of the E35’s navigation software. The great thing is that it creates a map in real-time that you can access via the downloadable smartphone app.

That way, you’ll see where the robot has cleaned and have an idea of where it has yet to go.

Sadly, it actually needs to bump into obstacles to map them instead of having detecting them before collision. However, movable objects like pet bowls or even small vases may not register in the map, and the E35 will attempt to knock them over.

On the bright side, the stored map will always give the E35 an idea of where to move, but when moving the robot between stories, it’ll need to re-map the area from scratch.

Notable Features

Carpet Sense Technology

Customers will definitely appreciate Carpet Sense Technology. The robot’s sensors are constantly monitoring the texture and density of the floor its cleaning.

When it detects carpeting up ahead, it’ll automatically kick its suction speed into high-gear (2,000 Pa) for maximum cleaning performance.

However, the sensors may not pick up brightly colored carpets, in which case you’ll need to manually activate carpet-cleaning mode via the app.

Anti-Tangle Brushroll

Not only does it pick up dropped pet food, but the E35 also has the ability to suction up long strands of pet and human hair.

And to make things even better, it comes equipped with an anti-tangle brushroll that doesn’t clog the suction inlet. A quick snip with a pair of scissors is all it takes to remove every strand from the brush.

Washable E11 HEPA Filter

To ensure that every speck of dust stored in the dust collection bin doesn’t escape, the E35 is equipped with a super-fine E11 HEPA Filter.

It has a maximum retention rate of 95% that ensures nothing is flung out of the robot’s exhaust. A quick wash under running water will have it working as good as new for up to 12 months.

Roborock E35: Should I Get It?

Even though the Roborock E35 isn’t the most feature-rich robot out there, it’s a neat hybrid robot with awesome vacuum performance and sufficient mopping abilities. The fact that the E35 is able to work on its own with little supervision and super-quick maintenance is reason enough to seriously consider owning one of these bots.
