If there’s one brand of vacuum cleaners that you absolutely need to know, it’s Miele. This German company produces some of the world’s most astounding canister vacuums of all areas of the price spectrum so there’s a little bit of something for everybody.
Today, we’re going to take a look at one of their low-cost models, the Electro+ (Compact C2) Canister Vacuum.
Don’t be fooled by its simple outer shell—what it lacks in appearance, it more than makes up for in versatility and performance.
Vortex Motor with Power Control
This Electro+ features a beefy 1,200-watt Vortex Motor, a creation from the ingenious engineers at Miele, that delivers a ton of suction pressure.
This canister vacuum is designed to tackle any surface with relative ease, from delicate drapes the way up to the shaggiest rugs you have.
This is possible with the adjustable power dial located on the canister. The Electro+ offers up to six different power settings. When transitioning from different surfaces, all you need to do is turn the dial to the appropriate setting and you’re good to go.
WARNING: using max-power on curtains may end up pulling them off the rod!

Motor-Driven Vacuum Head
As a canister vacuum, its versatility is limited by not just how much or how little suction power it produces but also the assortment of cleaning tools it comes with. For carpeted floors and upholstery, the main tool is the motor-driven vacuum head.
The stiff bristles of the brushroll rorate quickly to dig deep into carpeting to dislodge and extract dust and debris from the roots, and the suction does the rest.
On bare floors, this tool will not be of much use to you since the bristles may end up marring floorboards and even tile. For that, you’ll need to attach the…
Suction-Only Vacuum Head
The name of the tool says it all. It does not have a motor-driven brushroll but instead, relies solely on suction power to get the job done. This is the tool of choice for smooth floors, countertops, curtains, shelves, and upholstery.
Though brushroll-less, the suction-only vacuum head comes with a series of soft bristles that gently massage your floors to bring as much dust from grout and floorboard cracks to the surface as possible.
A handy feature indeed if you’re looking for perfectly spotless floors.

AirClean and HEPA Filtration
To ensure everything that gets sucked into the Electro+ doesn’t go shooting out through the exhaust or cracks, Miele equipped with the canister vac with AirClean technology.
Inside and out, the Electro+ is sealed tightly so passing dust particles have nowhere to reside other than the dust bin or filter.
Speaking of which, the Electro+’s vacuum bags are equipped with a super-fine True HEPA Filter that retains up to 9.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns in size. This is a definite must-have feature if you suffer from seasonal or pet allergies.
Accessories on Demand
Canister vacuums rely on their assortment of cleaning attachments to tackle piles of dust rather than a single vacuum head.
Other than the two attachments mentioned earlier, the Electro+ also comes with the standard set of three cleaning tools—a dusting brush, an upholstery tool, and a crevice tool—to make spot-cleaning easier than ever.
Best of all, all three accessories sit snugly on the machine thanks to the VarioClip. When you need to swap out different tools, no longer will worry about where they’re placed. The convenient VarioClip keeps them safe and sound, both when the vacuum is in use and in storage.

Convenience-Adding Features
Foot-Operated Buttons
The only time you’ll ever need to kneel down to operate the Electro+ is when turning the power dial. Switching to canister vac on and off can be done with a slight tap with your foot. For those with lower-back problems, you’ll more than appreciate the thoughtfulness that went into this feature.
Retractable 33-foot Cord
One problem with many canister vacuums is their short power cord, but that isn’t the case with the Electro+. It’s power cord measure 33 feet long, allowing you to move around freely and clean in a wide circle before switching to another outlet.
Best of all, the cord can be rewound automatically with a tap of your foot.

Verdict: Should I Get the Miele Electro+ Canister Vacuum?
Despite being on the less costly end of the Miele canister vacuum price spectrum, it still requires a healthy budget to invest in and purchase replacement bags. If that’s not a problem, then there’s absolutely no reason why the Miele Electro+ would be an issue.
This unit is all about vacuuming performance and versatility while maintaining a high level of comfort and convenience. After all, it is a Miele-made product!
