If you’re looking for a neat robotic vacuum cleaner that isn’t a Roomba, then Neato is the most appropriately-named brand. Neato robots aren’t at the same level as more high-end models, but they can certainly do the job exceptionally well. Today, we’re comparing eight different Neato bots from the D series. Keep reading to see which of these mid-range Neato robot vacuum cleaners is your best option.
Neato D3
First of all, you’ll notice that all Neato D series robots follow a semi-circle design with two curved edges. This design helps these robots get into corners without bumping awkwardly along the edge of walls.

The Neato D3 can connect to smart devices via Wi-Fi where users can set up cleaning schedules and through the smartphone app or by voice prompts via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
The D3 doesn’t come with many premium-grade features; it has a 60-minute battery life with auto-resume, as well as different turbo cleaning modes for removing debris from carpet fibers.
Best of all, even this entry-level robot comes with programmable no-go lines (available in the app), so it knows which rooms are off-limits.

Neato D4
The Neato D4 Robot Vacuum isn’t much different from the D3. You get the same Wi-Fi connectivity that allows you to remotely control the robot using the downloadable app or voice commands.

The laser-guided navigation system does well at keeping the D4 from toppling down staircases, turbo, and eco cleaning modes, an auto-recharge, and resume function after 75 minutes of nonstop cleaning.
D4 has an upgraded filter, instead of a standard one, that traps more than 99 percent of hair, dust, and debris for better cleaning performance.
The programmable no-go lines are a remarkable feature, as it allows you to keep your items where they are without the robot clumsily bumping into everything in its path.

Neato D5
Here is where things get a little more exciting. Even though the D5, D4, and D3 share many similar specs and features, the Neato D5 is an upgraded version that comes with side brushes!

These brushes will further assist its semi-circular design in picking up and removing debris from the corners and edges of a room.
The D5’s laser-guided system now allows it to store multiple floor plans. You can move the robot upstairs without re-scanning the same environments for maximum cleaning efficiency.
The battery also holds a larger charge, so it only needs to refill after 90 minutes of nonstop cleaning.
- Laser smart technology scans and maps your entire house, cleaning in straight lines...
- Set up virtual No-Go lines that tell your robot where not to go, So it avoids things...

Neato D6
The Neato D6 is one of the brand’s most recent releases. It features an upgraded ultra-performance filter that is as HEPA-esque as can be.

It can retain up to 99 percent of debris as tiny as 0.3 microns, so pollen, dander, hair, and dust mites have no hope of escaping the D6’s mighty filter clutches.
The D6 uses a spiral-style combo brush that spins quicker and lifts more debris hiding in carpet fibers. You’ll be astounded by the 120-minute runtime this robot delivers on a single charge.
With this much battery life per charge, your home’s floors can be cleared of all gritty debris without waiting hours for the robot to recharge and resume.

Neato D7
The D7 is Neato’s “greatest” robotic vacuum cleaner currently available. It comes with all of the premium-quality feature you get from the D6, including the 4200-mAh battery that supplies 120 minutes of nonstop cleaning per charge.

Its powerful motor can pick up all sorts of microscopic debris, which will not escape the super-fine 0.3-micron mesh of the HEPA filter (99.5 percent of the time).
However, with the upgraded bot, you get access to zone cleaning modes. Utilize zone cleaning mode to have the robot focus on particularly dirty sports in your homes, such as high-foot-traffic hallways and living rooms.
Can set up specific schedules for different zones using the Neato phone app.

Neato D8
The Neato D8 and the following models are set to release in autumn 2020, which isn’t that far off from now. These robots will launch in North America, Japan, and Europe at first.

That said, some information is unavailable regarding where these robots are made from.
What we know is the Neato D8 is that it will come with some industry-first tech, such as—according to the company—the biggest dirt bin available of all robot kinds, a super-wide brush, and an upgraded version of LaserSmart Navigation technology.
Nobody knows what upgrades are there in the app, so we’ll have to wait and see.

Neato D9
Press releases on the Neato D9 offers even less information on what it will come with. However, Neato has officially stated that it will still maintain the effective ultra-performance HEPA-esque filter that traps up to 99.5 percent of dirt, debris, and common allergens.

It will also sport a massive battery that supplies up to two hours of continuous vacuuming (on standard mode) before needing to refuel.
We can expect the D9 to come with an upgraded version of LaserSmart navigation technology. Based on reports, the Neato D9 will be able to vacuum anywhere in your home at any time you like, even in the dark.
If you’re worried about noise levels coming from your Neato bot, the eco mode will reduce noise levels.

Neato D10
Finally, the D10—the largest, greatest, most feature-packed Neato bot that is set to release in late 2020.

Like the previous soon-to-release models, Neato hasn’t offered much in the D10 packs and what it can do.
But the company has mentioned in press releases that it will be the first robot to introduce in sport a True HEPA Filter, which is capable of trapping common allergens as small as 0.3 microns up to 99.7 percent of the time.
It will also sport the latest LaserSmart Navigation technology, likely to deliver more powerful suction to remove deeply-embedded crumbs from carpets.

Conclusion
As you can see from this lineup of Neato robots, D series robots aren’t the most feature-packed options available, but they outperform most mid-range robots by a pretty wide margin.
The D7 is the latest Neato bot currently available, but if you’re willing to wait a couple more months, you can expect the top-tier D8, D9, and D10 bots to come with surprising features and better cleaning performance.
