KUPPET Compact Twin Tub Portable Washer Review

If your basement or laundry room is short on space, the best thing you can do is get a portable washer. There are plenty of great-performing models on the market, but one of the most well-known, highly commended models is the KUPPET Compact Twin Tub. In this review, we’re seeing what things about the KUPPET drive its customers off the wall.

26-pound Wash and 16-pound Spin Capacities

Despite having the compact label affixed to it, the KUPPET Twin Tub is one of the largest portable washing machines we’ve ever laid eyes on. As a twin-tub machine, it has one tub specifically for washing and another that spin-dries clothes to near-dry-as-a-bone-ness.

The wash cycle supports up to 26 pounds of sopping wet clothes per cycle, making it perfect for multiple users’ clothes at once. The spin cycle can handle up to 16 pounds of clothes, so it will take at least spin cycles to complete the entire laundry task at hand.

15-minute Adjustable Wash Cycle

On the control panel is three dials used to adjust the duration of the wash cycle, the spin cycle, and how hard of a wash to deliver. The wash cycle can be adjusted to 15 minutes for a maximum 26-pound load. It may or may not be enough time to get your clothes spotless, depending on how dirty your garments are and how stubborn their stains are.

The middle dial is the wash level or how much agitation is used to remove stains. It starts from gentle and goes all the way up to normal. On the far-right end select the drain option which sends water pouring out of the wash tub in mere minutes (you’ll see why in a bit).

360° Agitators

Washing machines can come with agitators that sit at the bottom of the washtub to roughly scrub away the stubbornest grass and dirt stains imaginable. This portable washing machine comes with an agitator at the base which spins a full 360° when the machine’s wash mode is set to normal mode.

Although this results in copious amounts of lint and stray fiber strands, the machine can capture whatever remnants are produced to keep them from sticking onto your clothes.

1,300-RPM Spin

The spin tub in portable washing machines isn’t designed to leave your garments completely dry to the touch, even after spin cycles. However, they do spin at a high rate, and it removes most moisture, allowing for quicker air-drying afterward.

The KUPPET’s spin tub spins at a maximum of 1,300 RPM which supposedly removes more than 80% of moisture. This high-speed tub can also serve to rinse your clothes while the washtub handles another load.

Dual Water Inlets

The versatility of the spin tub is due to the KUPPET’s dual-inlet design. The inlets are placed on both sides of the control panel and shoot water to the nearest tub. Found in portable washing machines, the dual-inlet design makes it easier for the user to direct the hose to bring water into one of the tubs without needing to reposition the entire washing machine.

If you plan on taking this machine with you in your RV, this often-overlooked feature is something you’ll appreciate.

Space-Saving Design

Another thing that travelers will go bonkers about is that the KUPPET hardly takes any space at all. With a footprint of 27 x 16 inches and standing 32 inches high, it’s pretty safe to say that this machine can sit comfortably in an RV without redoing the interior layout, let alone finding floor space for it in a laundry room.

Built-in Drain Pump

But that’s not the best thing about the KUPPET. Many portable washing machines rely on gravity to remove water from the wash and spin tubs, but the KUPPET is different. It comes with a built-in drain pump which actively removes water from the tubs, reducing the amount of time spent waiting on the machine to fully drain by minutes compared to its competitors.

Low Energy Consumption

The KUPPET comes with a 420-watt motor that uses only 280 watts per hour to run a wash cycle and 140 watts per hour to turn the spin tub. For travelers, it’s important to know just how much (or how little) energy this machine uses if you plan on plugging it into a portable generator.
