There are several things to consider when choosing which type of vacuum cleaner to get. One of them is versatility, e.g. how many different surfaces the vacuum can clean. This is not only achievable by a canister vac but also extremely easy to do.

Here, we’re going to take a look at another of Eureka’s fantastic canister vacs—the Eureka NEN110A Whirlwind Bagless Canister Vacuum—that, based on reports, isn’t quite on the same level as the Eureka 3670G Mighty Mite. Read our full review down below to see whether this bagless canister vacuum is the right option for you and your home.
1200W Motor
Canister vacuums are known for being the most powerful type of vacuums around. Their versatility comes not just from various cleaning tools but also from a beefy motor that supplies an astounding amount of cleaning power. The NEN110A features a heavy-duty 1200W motor that produces enough pressure to extract embedded dirt and debris from low-pile carpeting and bare floors. As for shaggy rugs and delicate carpets, the NEN110A may not be the best option.

Brushroll-less Floorhead
The NEN110A‘s main weapon against dirt and debris is a brush roll-less floorhead that looks very similar to that of other Eureka products. Along the suction inlet are fine bristles that gently massage your floors and carpets to dislodge anything hiding within, offering maximum cleaning performance per sweep.
The main benefit of having a brush roll-less floorhead is that it won’t leave scratch marks on tiles or floorboards. Just don’t expect to do a lot of deep-cleaning with this canister vac.
Integrated 2-in-1 Crevice/Dust Brush Tool
Instead of coming with a wide range of cleaning tools, the NEN110A has only one tool: an integrated, multipurpose tool that is attached permanently to the handle and suction hose. By detaching the tube and floorhead, you’ll have access to this 2-in-1 crevice/dust brush to spot-clean above-ground surfaces in your home and vehicle. The tool itself works pretty well and is made of a durable material that won’t crack under pressure.

Washable Filter
Inside of the NEN110A’s casing is a basic filter that works pretty well at trapping large particles and pet hair. Don’t expect miracles from this thing—it’s not a HEPA filter after all, and it does tend to get clogged rather easily, but a quick rinse under running water should have the filter good as new. A significant drop in suction power will alert the user that the filter needs to be cleaned out.
3-liter Dust Cup Capacity
This bagless canister vac stores everything inside of a humungous 3-liter dust cup. With this large dust cup, you can store several days’ worth of dust without even reaching maximum capacity. The cup itself is easy to detach from the canister, open, and clean. However, this doesn’t have protective sealing around the latch so it’s quite possible for dust to fall out while you’re working.
20-foot Reach
Many users have expressed their disappointment about the NEN110A’s short 16-foot power cord. Granted, it does indeed limit movement to an extent, especially when compared to some of Eureka 3670G’s 20-foot cord, but you should also take the length of the suction hose into account. With a six-foot suction hose, you’ve got a 20-foot radius of movement from each decent wall outlet—not great—but an extension cord should solve this problem instantly.

Auto-Cord Rewind
When all is said and done, you won’t need to worry about wrapping the 16-foot power cord around hooks. Instead, all you need to do is press the auto-cord rewind button on the canister unit to wrap the cord inside of the unit and out of sight. There’s no need to worry about damaging the cord with improper wrapping techniques. Just press the button and you’re all done!
Foot Operated Buttons
Eureka took a leaf out of Miele’s book and installed large buttons on the NEN110A. A quick tap with your foot will allow you to press these buttons without needing to bend over. There are only two buttons here: the power button and the auto-cord rewind button. There have been complaints about the on/off button sticking and forcing the user to kneel to unstick it. This completely defeats the purpose of oversized buttons in the first place.
Verdict: Should I Get the Eureka NEN110A Whirlwind Bagless Canister Vacuum?
Is the Eureka NEN110A the best canister vacuum out there? Not by a long shot. Eureka’s own 3670G Mighty Mite beats this model by a wide margin. However, if your home or apartment isn’t covered in wall-to-wall carpeting, and you’re looking for an inexpensive canister from a name brand, then this would probably be a good fit.
