LED strip lights can turn any area or object inside your home into an instant eye-pleaser. They can use for a wide range of purposes, from setting the mood to being the major source of lighting. Today, we’re going to take a look at two different LED strip light kits by DAYBETTER and Govee to see which of those is the better, more versatile, and more enjoyable option.
DAYDAY LED Strip Lights
20 Color Options
The DAYDAY offers 20 different color options to light up a room. Most rainbow colors are available, there’s a little bit of something for everybody. Plus, these LEDs are dimmable and you can set them to whatever mood you’re feeling. However, if you’re picky about your lighting options or your favorite color isn’t available, there’s nothing you can do.
Eight Light Patterns
Not only are there 44 color options, but there are eight different configurable light patterns to make a room or item pop. The patterns include slow and quick transitions, color jumping, and color fading.
There’s also an auto option where the DAYDAY will control what colors and patterns to display.
Remote Control
The DAYDAY is a simple LED strip-light model in the sense that controlling the lights can be done via IR remote control. The 44-button remote gives you control over the color display, brightness, and light patterns. It’s pretty straightforward to learn how to use.
32.8-foot Roll
Inside this LED strip, the light kit is two 16.4-foot rolls containing 150 bulbs each. If you’re anything like us, finding a place to use up all 32.8 feet of LED tape is a challenge after the first roll.
It’s easy to go overboard but feel free to use your imagination!
Cuttable and Linkable
If you don’t feel like using all 16.4 feet in one place, you can cut the DAYDAY, as well as the Govee, down to size. On the rolls, you’ll find scissor marks after every three bulbs indicating where you can cut the strip.
If one roll isn’t enough, you have the option of linking bulbs together. This kit only comes with one adapter and connectors.

Govee Smart WiFi LED Strip Lights
16 Million Color Options
If the 20-color DAYDAY doesn’t do it for you, then perhaps the 16-million Govee will. With this many colors to choose from, there’s a little bit of something for everyone to enjoy.
Adjusting the color to suit your mood is easy and can be done using the smartphone app. You also have the option to choose between several different light patterns.
App and Voice Control
The Govee Home app doesn’t just let you choose which color to display but set up the brightness, program a timer, and even save color options for future use. If you prefer a more futuristic, hands-off approach, then you can connect these LEDs to Alexa or Assistant where you can deliver voice commands.
This is bound to impress your guests the next time you have people over.
16.4-foot Roll
Similar to DAYDAY, each Govee roll is 16.4 feet long and contains 300 bulbs. The strips are also cuttable and linkable to perfectly suit whatever surface you plan on attaching these strips to. You can get up to two rolls in each box; making sure to double-check before checking out.
Music Sync Mode
But the shining feature of these LED strip lights is that they can sync with any sounds blasting out of your speakers or phone. These strips have a built-in microphone that constantly detects sounds and displays flashing lights to the beat. You’ll find this feature in the Govee Home app.
More than 50,000-hour Lifespan
Though we can’t say for how long the Govee lasts, the company claims that these strips have a lifespan of more than 50,000 hours. Most LED strip lights are like that—the DAYDAY included—so there’s nothing particularly astonishing here.
The good news is that LEDs do not produce heat because they also shine brighter and last way longer than incandescent bulbs.

DAYDAY vs. Govee LED Strip Lights: Which Should I Get?
In our humble opinion, the Govee is the better-LED strip light kit by a wide margin. Though 20 dimmable color options are nothing to scoff at, it can be extremely limiting if you’re attempting to capture a particular mood.
Not only does the Govee’s 16 million colors blow the DAYDAY’s out of the water, but with music sync mode, you and your lights will bump along to any music you’re blaring from your speakers.
