Bissell Zing vs Miele Canister Vacuums: Is it even Competition?

Miele Canister Vacuum

Today, two of the best vacuum manufacturers are Bissell and Miele. One of the most popular types of vacuums on the market is the canister vacuum. Both Bissell and Miele have released various canister vacuums, and today, we’re going to look at two canister vacuums, one from each manufacturer.

We’ll start by looking at the Bissell Zing, and then we’ll move on from the Bissell Zing and look at the Miele Pure Suction Canister Vacuum. In this buying guide, you are learning all about the different features and attributes they offer, and the types of advantages and benefits they will give you if you choose to use them.

Just as a quick refresher, though, what is a canister vacuum?

A canister vacuum is a vacuum cleaner with the same suction power – sometimes more, sometimes less, but they’re usually isn’t a drastic difference – like that of a regular upright vacuum. But, unlike an upright vacuum, a canister vacuum is contained within a unit that looks like a canister, and as such, it’s quite small. You can move this canister around, and this gives you a lot more mobility and freedom when it comes to what you vacuum, and how you vacuum.

What Does The Bissell Zing Canister Vacuum Offer?

Not only is the Bissell Zing Canister Vacuum small and lightweight – it only weighs 7.5 pounds, and has a small shape, so that you can more easily move it around – but it’s also inexpensive. Most canister vacuums aren’t exactly expensive, but the Bissell Zing Canister Vacuum is very inexpensive, just in general.

Bissell Zing vs Miele Canister Vacuums

If you want something small, mobile, and affordable, this is a great choice.

On top of the vacuum, there is the dirt cup. For a canister vacuum, this dirt cup is an average size. But, it’s easy to remove from the vacuum, and you won’t have any issues disposing of the dirt and dust within that dirt cup.

In many ways, the simplicity of this dirt cup defines the general design ethos of the Bissell Zing Canister Vacuum, which is that of accessibility and ease of use.

Right on the back of the vacuum, there is a power cord. Unlike other canister vacuums, the Bissell Zing is a corded vacuum, which does restrict its mobility, since it is fifteen feet long, it shouldn’t be much of a problem, as long as you have an outlet within the space that you want to vacuum. If not, then you’re going to need an extension cord.

The nice thing about the power cord is that it has something known as “Automatic Cord Rewind”. Once you are done using the cord and unplug it, you can press a button, and the cord will rewind itself.

Of course, we haven’t talked about the cleaning abilities of this canister vacuum, and that is the most important part of any canister vacuum, naturally.

You’ll notice that the cleaner head – this is the part that the suction hose is attached to; you use it to do all of the actual vacuumings – is pretty small. It’s small, and it isn’t that tall, either. Naturally, the reason for this is to aid in the mobility and flexibility that it offers when it comes to how you clean. Using this cleaner head, you can easily clean underneath furniture – such as couches and chairs – and there is a button, right on top of the cleaner head, that you can press. By pressing this button, you can switch from a suction mode that is designed for cleaning hard floors to one that is designed for cleaning soft floors, such as carpeting.

In terms of the cleaning power, since this is a small canister vacuum, you aren’t getting as much power as some of the other canister vacuums, but you won’t have any real issues vacuuming your floors.

At the end of the day, if you want a canister vacuum that is affordable, easy to use, and effective, then the Bissell Zing is a good choice!

What Does The Miele Pure Suction Canister Vacuum Offer?

Right off the bat, you’ll notice that the Miele Pure Suction Canister Vacuum is a bit more elaborate than the Bissell Zing. On the canister itself, you have six different settings that allow you to adjust the suction speed of the vacuum, and by adjusting this speed, you can vacuum on all kinds of different surfaces.

You’ll also notice that this is a heavier vacuum. It weighs about fifteen pounds, but there are wheels on the bottom that make it a little easier to move around. And, since it isn’t that big, storing it won’t be a problem.

Within the canister itself, there is a motor providing up to 1,200W of power. That’s a lot of power, especially for an inexpensive canister vacuum such as this one. Using this power, you can vacuum on carpets and rugs, as well as hard floors, such as those made of wood and stone, and tile, among various other materials.

Miele vs Bissell Zing Canister Vacuums

When you are vacuuming, you’ll be using the cleaner head. This cleaner head is similar to the one found on the Bissell Zing, but it’s a bit larger, though. It’s larger and slightly more cumbersome so you might not be able to use it when vacuuming underneath certain types of objects, such as couches and chairs. But, it isn’t that big, so you shouldn’t have too many issues.

As you are vacuuming, there is a small switch that you can use, and you can use this switch to transform the cleaning mode of the vacuum so that it can accommodate hard floors or soft floors. By doing this, you have the freedom to clean the things that you want, in the way that you want to clean them.

Ultimately, the Miele Pure Suction Canister Vacuum is great, and it’s more powerful than the Bissell Zing. However, it’s also a bit bulkier and offers a bit less mobility, so keep that in mind.
