Despite the growing popularity of robots and canisters, upright vacuum cleaners remain on top. One widely recognized brand, Bissell, continues to produce some of the best (not to mention pet-friendliest) uprights in the world. Today, we’re going to see what the Bissell Cleanview Rewind Upright Vacuum 24899 is all about. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t get much better than this!

OnePass Technology

The Cleanview 24899 uses OnePass Technology which, as the name suggests, is able to remove nearly 100% of all dirt, hair, and debris in a single pass. OnePass Tech is made up of three different parts that you can read all about below.

Triple-Action Brushroll

Much of the Rewind 24899’s magnificent cleaning performance comes from the Triple-Action Brush. The bristles are situated in a helix-like pattern around the roll in order to produce the most contact on surfaces to provide a deep-clean like never before.

The bristles dislodge embedded debris to bring it to the surface where the high-powered five-amp motor delivers a 120-CFM suction to take care of the rest. The Rewind 24899 can remove most if not all of the dirt hiding in medium-pile carpeting in a single pass.

Edge-to-Edge Cleaning Performance

The floorhead is made with the thinnest side bezels to allow for a wider brushroll. This widens the cleaning path and makes edge-cleaning a breeze. Ultimately, you won’t need to rely on spot-cleaning tools to pick dirt out of corners.

When transitioning from carpets to hard floors, the biggest pain in the neck is dealing with scattered or flung debris. With the Rewind 24899, you won’t need to worry about this any longer. The brushroll and floorhead casing are designed in such a way that dirt and debris located directly beneath the floorhead has no escape of being flung to the side.

If you have spilled dry pet food on your floors, you’ll appreciate the scatter-free cleaning experience more than anything.

Multi-Cyclonic Filtration

Inside of the Rewind 24899is a multi-level Cyclonic Filtration system that keeps all dust and debris inside of the one-liter dust cup where they belong. By spinning all collected debris, the Rewind 24899 separates the ultra-fine from the fine from the large. This is done to prevent the filters from becoming clogged which can potentially lead to a noticeable loss in suction power. The entire filtration system can be dismantled to wash and dry (should be done every month).

Four Awesome Spot-Cleaning Tools

What’s truly amazing about this upright vacuum cleaner is that it comes with a long eight-foot extendable suction hose to clean debris from high-up surfaces. To get to any hanging cobwebs on the ceiling, the Rewind 24899 also comes with an extension wand.

On the end of the hose/wand, users can attach one of the four amazing spot-cleaning tools that come in the box. You get the standard crevice and dusting brush, but then there’s the Per TurboEraser Tool and a Pet Hair Corner Tool that deep-cleans to remove all fallen pet hair from any surface.

27-foot Power Cord with Auto-Rewind

And to make matters even more convenient for the user, the Rewind 24899 comes with a long 27-foot power cord that offers a wide radius of free movement from every wall outlet. Add the length of the hose and extension wand and you’ve got a far reach unmatched by many other uprights on the market.

17.5-pound Build

If you go by looks alone, the Cleanview 24899 looks like it would easily weigh more than 25 pounds, but fortunately, this is not the case at all. On an empty dust cup, this upright weighs only 17.5 pounds, making lifting up and down staircases easy on the shoulders and back.

Furthermore, with its far reach and handy spot-cleaning tools, there’s actually very little lifting to do. The lightweight build of the Cleanview 24899 makes it perfect for those who don’t have the strength or patience to lug around heavy vacuum cleaners.

Non-Swivel Steering Floorhead

Unfortunately, the sheer size of the vacuum head does not allow a steering neck mechanism. What this ultimately means is that you’ll need the prep a room prior to vacuuming (e.g. move furniture and other obstacles that inhibit movement). Admittedly, prepping a room can be time-consuming, but this is more than made up for by the upright’s powerful suction and OnePass Technology.
